Manage access, pause updates or cancel funding

Who this is for

Use this guide to stop an app's access, stop notifications or manage paid funding. Disconnecting an application does not cancel a subscription. Cancelling paid funding does not erase personally owned saved choices. Each operation has its own confirmation and result.

Start here

Choose the change you actually want:

  1. Stop an application's access: open application permissions, find the intended application and choose Disconnect application. Read the confirmation: Disconnect this application? Your saved update choices will be retained. Confirm only the intended app.
  2. Stop or change notifications: open My update preferences. Choose Pause to stop an active choice, or Archive to retain it outside the active list. Restore as inactive draft does not resume delivery. Use Edit to revise your own criteria or schedule.
  3. Manage or cancel your Abe Updates subscription: open Billing and, under Your services, choose Manage or cancel subscription. It opens Stripe's secure page, where you can update your card, download invoices or cancel. Review the cancellation terms and result shown there. The services screen shows when your current paid period ends. This guide does not state a refund policy.

Do not use app disconnection as a substitute for funding cancellation. An alert pause also does not cancel a provider course booking. That booking remains with the course provider.

What success looks like

The app screen reports Application disconnected. Saved update choices are retained. Check that state after the request. An alert list shows the updated paused or archived state. Paid cancellation needs its separate confirmed portal/funding result. A remote disconnect that is pending is not confirmed; a closed window alone proves nothing.

Funding expiry, departure or lost source permission closes the affected access. An independently valid personal allocation remains separate from employer-funded access; previous employer membership does not revive it. Saving preferences never guarantees a right to execute them after authority ends.

If it does not work

Check the existing state before repeating a request. If payment management is unavailable, use Troubleshooting and ask support to check the current subscription. Do not repeatedly recharge or resend an uncertain request. Report the non-sensitive screen and time, not keys or private criteria.

Stop or change your choices

Cancel any confirmation that names the wrong app or organisation. Resume alerts only through Resume my choices after reviewing your criteria, timing and offered destination. Reconnection must be a fresh explicit permission choice; retained preferences do not approve it automatically. Review Privacy and permissions before granting access again.
