Abe for clinics and hospitals
Who this is for
This guide is for a clinic or hospital funding Abe services for staff. Abe provides official announcements, rules and standards search, professional-development discovery and practice governance. This service does not provide clinical evidence updates or patient treatment advice. HealthPathways access is not connected.
Start here
- Choose which Abe services the organisation will fund. Confirm the included access and terms with Abe before enrolment; the complete subscription journey remains unfinished.
- Each staff member uses their own account. Organisation membership controls access to the organisation's material. Funding does not expose a person's private interests or grant another site's access.
- Staff select the services they want to display. They separately choose any update topics, exclusions, delivery time and destination. An explicitly authorised administrator may manage choices within their granted role. Payment does not activate notifications.
- Start with Official updates, Rules and standards, Professional development or authorised Governance and readiness. Read each guide's current availability before relying on it.
- To place Abe inside hospital or practice software, give that application's developer the Developer guide and its vendor guide. Abe supplies the shared service; that application's team owns its changes. The installed widget and named hospital integrations still need acceptance.
Keep patient records, identifiers and case-specific treatment questions out of this service, messaging channels and support examples. Existing organisational SOP access needs the organisation's own document ownership and current organisation permission.
Outside this service
Patient-context decision support is inactive. Any future clinical reference product needs a separate intended purpose, TGA assessment and approval before it is offered. A disclaimer cannot replace that assessment or extend the present service.
What success looks like
Each person sees their permitted services and selected official announcements. The organisation can withdraw its funded access without taking over the person's account or private choices. Staff can browse without turning on notifications. A real installed connection must prove correct identity, source links, expiry, pause and disconnection.
If it does not work
Check the selected account, organisation membership and funded service. Do not use an old employer profile or another person's account. Give support the non-sensitive error and intended task. Include no patient information. See Troubleshooting.
Stop or change your choices
Pause unwanted notifications or revoke the affected app connection through its supported process. Verify that old access is denied. Disconnection and subscription cancellation are separate; independently valid personal access remains separate. See Account contexts and Manage and cancel.
